Long Days and Golden Light: Born Primitive’s “Campfire 2025” Collection in Montana
There’s something about Montana that makes you feel alive — the way the light hits the open fields, the stillness of dawn, and the hum of energy that builds as the day goes on. For three days straight, my team and I lived in that rhythm — chasing light, dust, and color for Born Primitive’s new Campfire 2025 Collection.
We shot from before sunrise to well past sundown, clocking 13–18 hour days that blurred into one unforgettable experience. Every moment, from the haze of early morning to the last flicker of dusk, was pure magic — and every frame reflected it.
The Heart of the Shoot
This project was all about authenticity — the grit and beauty of the outdoors meeting the timeless, rugged comfort of Born Primitive’s new flannels and denim.
The flannels were the heartbeat of the collection: soft, broken-in textures that looked perfectly at home beside a campfire or on the back of a pickup. The denim pieces balanced utility and style — tough enough for the open range, yet refined enough to wear anywhere. Shooting them in the Montana landscape just made sense.
We captured them in every light imaginable: morning haze, midday sun, and golden-hour glow. Every lighting condition brought something new — the cool calm of dawn, the sharp contrast of the noon sun, and the warm, cinematic tone of sunset.
Horses, Trucks, and Neon Nights
What I love most about brand content creation is how storytelling and product intertwine. This shoot wasn’t just about clothes — it was about the feeling they evoke.
In the mornings, the sound of horses in the pasture broke the silence as we framed shots against the fog. By midday, we were knee-deep in dust trails and truck beds, chasing that raw Americana feel. And when night fell, we found ourselves under the neon glow of local bars — denim catching the colored light, flannels soft and worn against the hum of the sign.
It was that perfect blend of grit, warmth, and nostalgia — a true reflection of the “Campfire” name.
The Team and the Vision
The Born Primitive crew is one of the hardest-working teams I’ve ever collaborated with. Every person on set showed up with intention — from the creative direction to the styling to the models who brought each frame to life.
Shooting long days like this takes more than just skill — it takes stamina, adaptability, and a shared vision. We moved fast, adjusted to unpredictable Montana light, and made the most of every second.
As a brand photographer and content creator, these are the kinds of projects I live for: immersive, story-driven, and deeply collaborative.
Capturing More Than a Collection
When I think back on those three days, it’s not just the landscapes or the clothes that stand out — it’s the sense of connection. Everyone on set believed in the story we were telling.
That’s what powerful commercial and lifestyle photography is really about: not just showing a product, but showing why it matters. The Campfire 2025 Collection wasn’t simply modeled — it was lived, breathed, and experienced through every frame.
Behind the Lens
From the quiet of pre-dawn setups to the laughter that carried us into the night, this shoot reminded me why I love creating visual content for brands. It’s about capturing authenticity — the kind of imagery that speaks without words.
Whether I’m shooting for a national brand campaign or a local business in Hampton Roads, Virginia, my goal stays the same: create visuals that make people feel something.
